About

Located northwest of Tucumcari, Conchas Lake State Park provides access to one of New Mexico's largest and most popular reservoirs. The lake features 25 miles of secluded coves, canyons, and sandy beaches where visitors can explore 11 miles of the Conchas River and 14 miles of the South Canadian River portions. Three separate recreation areas offer approximately 105 developed campsites plus an estimated 500 primitive campsites along the Cove Shoreline and Central Shoreline areas. The developed camping area includes modern amenities like restrooms with showers, a dump station, and many sites with electric hookups. Each developed site typically features a covered picnic table, fire ring, and barbecue grill. The park also offers a visitor center, playground, and access to a full-service marina with a nine-hole golf course nearby. With miles of shoreline, Conchas Lake provides excellent opportunities for boating, water-skiing, fishing for walleye and crappie, and wildlife watching. The extensive shoreline and varied terrain make it ideal for hiking and exploring remote areas of this high-desert reservoir.
