About

Roberts Tract Campground serves as both a campground and trailhead for exploring the Pine Ridge National Recreation Area in northwestern Nebraska. This small facility caters primarily to equestrians, offering an eight-paddock corral system, rider ramp, and stock water (weather permitting). Three tent sites with tables and fire rings are available, plus one additional site in the parking area for those with horse trailers or campers. The campground provides access to the Roberts Loop Trail, a 2.5-mile route that connects to the broader Pine Ridge Trail system within the Pine Ridge National Recreation Area. Vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water - only stock water for horses. Certified noxious weed-free hay is required for all stock brought onto national forest lands. This is a primitive, first-come-first-served campground ideal for horseback riders looking to explore the pine-covered ridges and canyons of the Pine Ridge unit. Motorized vehicles are prohibited within the Pine Ridge National Recreation Area, making it a quiet destination for trail riding.
