About

Bailey's Lakeside Use Area is a small, primitive-style recreation site managed by South Dakota Game, Fish, and Parks in Fall River County. Located approximately 2 miles north of Hot Springs off SD Highway 71, the area provides public access to Bailey Lake for fishing and boating. The primary facilities include a boat ramp on the west shore maintained by SDGFP and shore fishing access near the boat ramp and along the eastern shore. As a lakeside use area rather than a developed state park or recreation area, Bailey's offers minimal amenities and is geared toward day-use activities like fishing and boat launching rather than overnight camping. The lake and surrounding property are primarily under State of South Dakota and private ownership. No park entrance license is required to access Bailey's Lakeside Use Area.
