About

Rob Hill Group Campground provides a unique urban camping experience in the Presidio of San Francisco, part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. Situated on the highest point in the Presidio at an elevation of approximately 380 feet, the campground offers sweeping views and immediate access to the park's extensive trail network. The four group campsites are named Colma, Ishmen, Ohlone, and Yunahia, each capable of hosting up to 30 campers with four designated parking spaces per site. Each campsite includes four picnic tables, a fire ring, a freestanding charcoal BBQ grill, and two lockable food storage boxes to protect against wildlife. The campground provides indoor ADA-compliant flush restrooms with running water, potable water faucets on the east and west sides, and separate receptacles for landfill, recycling, and compost. Two sites (Ishmen and Yunahia) feature raised tent pads accessible for wheelchair users, with a paved 200-foot wheelchair-accessible path connecting to the parking area. This is strictly a tent-only campground with no RV, pop-up, or vehicle camping permitted anywhere in the Presidio. Pets are prohibited except for ADA-defined service animals. Campfires are allowed in provided fire rings when there are no Spare the Air alerts or fire bans in effect, though campers must bring their own firewood as collection within the park is prohibited. Quiet hours are 10 PM to 6 AM.
