* WHAT...Up to 1.8 ft of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways. * WHERE...San Francisco Bay and San Pablo Bay shoreline, Monterey Bay shoreline, and the Pacific Coast. * WHEN...From 5 AM Wednesday to 2 PM PST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of lots, parks, and roads with only isolated road closures expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...At the San Francisco tidal gauge, high tide is expected to be: 1.5 ft above normal (7.36 ft MLLW) at 7:51 AM Wednesday 12/31 1.7 ft above normal (7.55 ft MLLW) at 8:41 AM Thursday 1/1 1.8 ft above normal (7.66 ft MLLW) at 9:34 AM Friday 1/2 1.8 ft above normal (7.63 ft MLLW) at 10:26 AM Saturday 1/3 1.6 ft above normal (7.42 ft MLLW) at 11:18 AM Sunday 1/4 These predictions include 0.5 feet of storm surge that will enhance the astronomical tide and flooding threat. High tide varies up to 90 minutes earlier or later along the Pacific Coast and through the San Francisco Bay, respectively.

Air Quality Indicator Alert RED: Visitors advised to avoid outdoor activities
Current air quality in Bay Area parklands: AQI 151-200. Everyone may begin to experience health effects due to poor air quality. Members of sensitive groups may experience more serious health effects. Visitors advised to avoid outdoor activities.
Spare the Air Alert has been issued December 15-17, 2023 in the San Francisco Bay Area
When the Bay Area Air Quality Management District declares a Spare the Air Day, NO campfires, beach fires, or outdoor grills are allowed in park. Your compliance reduces pollution and improves air quality. See Recreational Fires webpage for details.
Temporary Closures and Traffic Impacts Expected In and Near Park November 13-17, 2023
APEC Summit is expected to result in temporary closures and traffic delays for park sites near the Presidio Shoreline, Lands End, and Alcatraz Pier 33. Visitors should plan extra travel time or visit other park sites not affected by APEC Summit.

Tsunami Warning is in effect from 10:49 am on Thursday, December 5 until further notice.
The NWS has issued a Tsunami Warning for the coastal areas of California. Visitors are advised to stay clear of beaches and low-lying coastal areas until further notice. Be alert to instructions from your local emergency officials.
The December 5 Tsunami Warning has been Cancelled for Coastal North Bay
Per the NWS, no further tsunami danger exists, however some areas may continue to experience small sea level changes. Please do keep an eye out for unusual ocean activity for the rest of today, to include rising waters, but also rapidly receding waters.
