About
Riverview Campground lies on a sagebrush and grass flat with a forested slope rising from its upper edge, offering panoramic views of the Madison River valley and the Madison Mountain Range. Located at 5,900-6,000 feet elevation on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest, this campground provides 24 camp units large enough to accommodate 30-foot trailers. Each site is equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. The campground sits approximately a quarter mile from the Madison River, one of Montana's premier trout fisheries and a destination for anglers worldwide. Additional fishing and boating opportunities are available at nearby Wade, Cliff, Hebgen, and Henry's Lakes. The west entrance to Yellowstone National Park is less than 40 miles away, making this an ideal base camp for exploring the region. Riverview operates as a first-come, first-served facility with three vault toilets and drinking water available from hand pumps. Cellular reception is available at the campground. The site is accessed via Highway 287, approximately 34 miles south of Ennis. Payment is by cash or check only, and campers should bring exact change as no change is available on-site.
