About
Riverview Campground lies on the Beaverhead-Deerlodge National Forest in southwest Montana, perched on an open sagebrush flat that overlooks the Madison River and the dramatic Madison mountain range. At 6,000 feet elevation, the forest slopes up from the upper edge of the campground while the river valley spreads below. Cellular reception is available throughout the campground. The campground provides 24 camp units, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Three vault toilets and five water spigots are distributed throughout. Sites can accommodate trailers up to 30 feet in length. This is a cash or check payment facility with no change available on site. The Madison River, one of the most celebrated trout fisheries in the world, flows about a quarter mile from the campground. Additional fishing and boating opportunities exist at nearby Wade, Cliff, Hebgen, and Henrys lakes. The west entrance to Yellowstone National Park is less than 40 miles away, making this an excellent base camp for exploring the greater Yellowstone ecosystem.
