Ridge Campground occupies a prominent ridge within Lake Wappapello State Park, offering campers elevated views of the 8,400-acre reservoir below. Located in Wayne County in Missouri's Ozark foothills, the campground provides 55 sites spread across two loops. Most sites feature electric hookups with both 30-amp and 50-amp service available, while a handful of basic sites accommodate tent campers preferring a more primitive experience. Water hydrants are distributed throughout the campground, and each site comes equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. The campground's showerhouse provides hot showers, flush toilets, and laundry facilities, all available during the on-season from April 1 through October 31. A centrally located vault toilet in the second loop and a dump station round out the facilities. Three ADA-accessible electric sites (10, 11, and 29) feature extended-end tables, accessible water hydrants, and access to a fully accessible showerhouse with roll-in showers and front-transfer toilets. Lake Wappapello offers excellent fishing for crappie, bluegill, bass, and catfish, plus a sandy swimming beach and boat ramp. The park includes hiking and mountain biking trails through oak-hickory forest. Four rustic camper cabins within the campground provide an alternative for those wanting a roof overhead. Reservations are available April through October via the Missouri State Parks reservation system, while walk-up registration handles unreserved sites.

Directions

From Poplar Bluff, travel north on US Highway 67 approximately 20 miles. Turn right onto MO Highway 172 and continue approximately 6-9 miles to the park entrance. Highway 172 ends at the park.
