Asher Creek Campground sits along the shores of Lake Wappapello in Missouri's scenic Ozark hills, providing campers with direct access to one of southeast Missouri's premier fishing and boating destinations. The campground offers a mix of basic and electric campsites with 50-amp service available, driveways ranging from 35 to 79 feet, and modern amenities including hot showers, restrooms, laundry facilities, and a sanitary dump station. One of the park's three concrete boat ramps is located within the campground, making it ideal for anglers targeting the lake's excellent populations of white bass, crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, and catfish. The Asher Creek Trail begins on the west side of the campground, offering a 2-mile loop through Ozark forest and along the Asher Creek arm of the lake, which serves as a waterfowl refuge. Site 77a is designated as an electric accessible campsite with an extended-end table, fire ring, and accessible water hydrants nearby. The showerhouse features ADA-compliant amenities including push-handle faucets, a front-transfer toilet, and a roll-in shower. Reservations can be made up to 12 months in advance through Missouri State Parks' online reservation system or by calling 877-ICampMO. Walk-up camping is available when unreserved sites exist. Pets are welcome with a maximum of two dogs per site, kept on a leash of 10 feet or less.

Directions

From Williamsville, Missouri, take Missouri Route 172 to the park. The park is approximately two hours from St. Louis via Interstate 55 to Highway 67.
