Redman Creek Recreation Area sits on Wappapello Lake, an 8,400-acre impoundment of the St. Francis River managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Ozark foothills of Wayne County, Missouri. The campground comprises 109 full-service sites split between Redman East and West loops, each equipped with 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer hookups. Six additional non-electric boat-in sites occupy nearby islands for a more primitive experience. The recreation area functions as a full-service destination with shower houses in each campground loop, playgrounds, and paved sites accommodating tents, RVs, and trailers. Day-use facilities include a swimming beach, four-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, accessible fishing pier, and the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center. Tennis, basketball, sand volleyball courts, and horseshoe pits provide additional recreation. The paved Lake View Trail begins at Redman East and connects to trailheads throughout the Wappapello Dam area. Nearby attractions include the Pine Ridge Nature Trail, Shell Lake Archery Trail, Wappapello Wildflower Trail, and Mingo National Wildlife Refuge approximately 12 miles away.

Directions

From St. Louis: Take I-55 south to Highway 67. Go south and turn left on State Highway D. Take Highway D south for 20 miles and follow signs. From Poplar Bluff: Take Highway 60 east to Highway T, exit toward Wappapello Lake (north), and follow signs.
