About

Lake Wappapello State Park Shelters are day-use picnic facilities designed for family gatherings, reunions, and group outings in Missouri's scenic Ozark foothills. The park sits along the shores of 8,600-acre Lake Wappapello, created by damming the St. Francis River. Shelter 1 is positioned in the upper day-use area with a 75-person capacity. It includes electrical outlets, water access, picnic tables, an outdoor grill, and nearby restrooms. Shelter 2 is located by the beach area with 50-person capacity and includes water access, picnic tables, and a grill, though it lacks electricity. Both shelters are ADA accessible. When not reserved, they are available free on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations can be made online 30 days to 12 months in advance; for dates within 30 days, contact the park directly.
