About
Red Bluff Camp provides a primitive backcountry camping experience along the banks of Kisatchie Bayou in northwestern Louisiana's Kisatchie National Forest. Located within the 38,450-acre National Red Dirt Wildlife Management Preserve, this walk-in tent camping area requires a quarter-mile hike from the parking area to reach the bayou shore campsites. The surrounding terrain is characterized by the steep, rugged topography that defines this unique corner of Louisiana. The campground is designated for both general camping and off-highway vehicle riders exploring the preserve. Facilities are minimal but functional, with vault toilets and trash receptacles available. Campers must bring their own drinking water as no potable water is provided. The area is popular for day hiking and hunting, with various game seasons drawing visitors to the preserve throughout the year. Access is via Forest Road 345, located north of Forest Highway 59 along the Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway. The Kisatchie Ranger District manages the site and can be reached at (318) 472-1840 for current conditions and hunting season information.
