About
Lotus Camp is a dedicated OHV camping area within the Kisatchie National Forest, located along the Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway. The campground caters specifically to off-highway vehicle riders, offering a convenient basecamp with direct trail access. A connecting spur trail from the Sandstone Trail enters the backside of camp, allowing visitors to ride directly from their campsite. The facility provides essential amenities including flush toilets, drinking water from a hand pump, picnic tables, and fire rings at each campsite. Sites are available first-come, first-served only at $10 per night. Visitors can pay on-site by scanning a QR code through the Recreation.gov mobile app, though downloading the app before arrival is recommended due to limited cellular service in the area. Sandstone Trail use requires an additional $5 per operator per day. The Kisatchie Ranger District office in Provencal handles inquiries weekdays from 7am to 3:30pm. Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed.
