About

Dogwood Camp is a free primitive campground located in the Kisatchie Ranger District of Kisatchie National Forest, Louisiana's only national forest. The campground offers 16 drive-in sites suitable for tents, small RVs, and trailers. Each site includes a picnic table. Facilities include flush toilets, potable water from faucets, and trash receptacles. The campground sits near the beginning of the Longleaf Trail Scenic Byway (Forest Highway 59), a designated National Scenic Byway that winds through longleaf pine ecosystems and offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing, hiking, and exploring the unique sandstone formations of the region. Spring dogwood blooms make this a particularly popular destination. As a primitive campground, Dogwood Camp has no hookups, showers, or dump station. Sites are first-come, first-served with no reservations. The campground is open year-round and operates 24 hours daily.
