The beach offers excellent opportunities for swimming, surfing, skin diving, fishing, and picnicking. The campground is particularly popular during summer months and accommodates both tent campers and RVs. Sites lack natural shade and are designed for individual family use with a maximum of 8 people per site. The facility includes modern amenities such as flush restrooms, token-operated showers, and a dump station. The on-site Camp Store near the entrance provides a pizza restaurant serving beer and wine with ocean views, a general store for basic supplies like ice and firewood, and beach rental equipment. The campground is conveniently located off Carlsbad Boulevard, approximately 50 miles north of San Diego.
