Raymond B. Winter State Park encompasses 695 acres within the Bald Eagle State Forest in central Pennsylvania's Ridge and Valley Province. The park's centerpiece is Halfway Lake, a scenic body of water contained by a hand-laid native sandstone dam and fed by spring mountain streams. The 61-site campground sits in a shallow basin surrounded by rocky ridges covered with oak and pine forest, offering a secluded woodland camping experience. The campground features 48 modern electric sites with 50-amp service, 11 non-electric sites, and three camping cottages that sleep five people each. Each campsite includes a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern holder. Campground facilities include modern shower houses, flush restrooms, drinking water, a sanitary dump station, playground, amphitheater, and a food concession/camp store. ADA-accessible sites and restrooms are available. Pets are permitted on designated campsites for an additional fee. Beyond camping, the park offers hiking trails, fishing in Halfway Lake and Rapid Run, swimming at the lake beach during summer months, and naturalist programs at the environmental education center. Winter activities include cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on the forest trails.
