About

Poe Valley State Park is a 620-acre retreat nestled in a rugged mountain valley in Centre County, Pennsylvania. The park centers around the 25-acre Poe Lake and is completely surrounded by the vast 198,000-acre Bald Eagle State Forest. No entirely paved road leads to the park, creating a truly remote camping experience that rewards those willing to navigate the gravel forest roads. The campground offers 45 sites for tents, trailers, and motorhomes, with 27 sites featuring 50-amp electric service. All sites are wooded and within walking distance of park facilities. Four camping cottages are also available, including one deluxe cottage with kitchen facilities. Amenities include flush restrooms, hot showers, drinking water, and a sanitary dump station. Activities at the park include fishing and swimming in Poe Lake, hiking on connecting trails through the state forest, and boating with rentals available on-site. The surrounding forest provides excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and hunting in season. Cell service is unreliable throughout the area, so visitors should download maps before arrival.
