Isabella & Lost Girl Fires- Road and Trail Closure
Due to the Isabella and Lost Girl Fires on the Cabinet Ranger District, a closure order is now in effect for a portion National Forest System Road 407, National Forest System Trail #407A, and Trail #646 (St. Paul Lake Trail).
Spruce Fire Road Closure-Updated
Due to the Spruce and Spruce Ridge Fires on the Three Rivers Ranger District, a closure order is still in effect. However, the original order has been terminated and replaced with an updated closure.
South Meadow Creek Fire Closure
Due to the South Meadow Creek Fire, a closure order is now in effect for National Forest System Roads #524 and #5961, starting at the junction of the two roads to their respective ending points.
Kootenai Rails Trail Closure
A portion of the Kootenai Rails Trail (NFS Trail #255) on the Rexford Ranger District is now temporarily closed during construction activities on the Tobacco River Bridge, which is over the trail, and to protect the public on the trail from potential debris impacts.

Lake Creek Campground offers a quiet, remote camping experience in the Kootenai National Forest, located approximately 32 miles southwest of Libby off West Fisher Road. At an elevation of 3,300 feet, this small campground features 4 developed sites and 4 dispersed campsites along secluded Lake Creek. Each developed site includes a tent pad, table, and fire ring, with the ability to accommodate RVs up to 32 feet on gravel or native material roads and parking spurs. The campground provides access to several hiking trails including Silver Dollar, Geiger Lakes, Fourth of July, and Bramlet Lake trails, with proximity to the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness. Basic amenities include potable water from a hand pump and vault toilets. The remote location offers excellent opportunities for fishing, hiking, and wildlife viewing in the mountainous terrain of northwest Montana. This is a no-fee campground with a 14-day stay limit. Pets are welcome but must be leashed. The campground typically operates seasonally from May through September 30, weather permitting.
Directions
From Libby, follow Highway 2 south to milepost 56.7 and turn right onto Libby Creek Road 231. Follow Road 231 for 6.4 miles to the junction with Bramlet Creek Road 2332, turn right. Follow Road 2332 for 0.72 miles to the Lake Creek Campground junction.
