Lake Creek Campground is a quiet, free primitive campground tucked into the forests of the Kootenai National Forest, approximately 32 miles southwest of Libby off the West Fisher Road. The campground sits at 3,360 feet elevation along Lake Creek, offering a peaceful retreat for campers seeking solitude without fees or reservations. The campground features 4 developed sites, each equipped with a tent pad, picnic table, and fire ring. An additional 4 dispersed campsites are available nearby. Roads and parking spurs are gravel or native material, and the campground can accommodate RVs up to 32 feet in length. Vault toilets are provided, but there is no potable water on site so campers must bring their own supply. Recreational opportunities include fishing in nearby streams and hiking trails in the area. The campground operates on a pack-in, pack-out basis, and pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash. The area is managed from Memorial Day through Labor Day, but remains accessible year-round depending on weather and road conditions.
Directions
From Libby, follow Highway 2 south to milepost 56.7 and turn right onto Libby Creek Road 231. Follow Road 231 for 6.4 miles to the junction with Bramlet Creek Road 2332, then turn right. Follow Road 2332 for 0.72 miles to the Lake Creek Campground junction.
