About
Goose Island State Park sits on a peninsula jutting into St. Charles Bay along the central Texas coast. The park divides into two distinct camping areas: 40 bayfront sites offering water views with 20/30/50-amp electric hookups, and 53 wooded sites nestled beneath large live oak trees with fire rings and grills. An additional 22 walk-in tent sites and premium full-hookup sites with sewer connections accommodate various camping styles. Every camping loop includes restrooms with showers. The park serves as a base for fishing, kayaking, and wildlife observation. A fishing pier, fish cleaning station, regular boat ramp, and kayak/canoe launch provide water access. Across St. Charles Bay lies Aransas National Wildlife Refuge, wintering grounds for endangered whooping cranes visible from January through April. The famous Big Tree, a massive live oak estimated over 1,000 years old, stands nearby. Rockport Beach, Texas Maritime Museum, and Fulton Mansion State Historic Site are all within a short drive.
Directions
From Rockport, take TX-35 north approximately 10 miles. Turn right onto Park Road 13 and continue 2 miles to the park entrance at 202 S. Palmetto St.
