Open — Open year-round. Park gates open 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Reservations are highly recommended as the park often reaches capacity.

About

Located in southeast Texas along the San Antonio River, Goliad State Park & Historic Site combines rich history with outdoor recreation. The park's centerpiece is Mission Espíritu Santo, a Spanish colonial-era mission restored by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s. Visitors can tour the whitewashed mission buildings, explore colorful chapel exhibits, and learn about the mission's ranching heritage. The park offers diverse camping options across multiple areas. The Karankawa camping area near the mission features 20 pull-through sites with full hookups suitable for large RVs and motorhomes. The Jacales camping area near the Group Hall provides sites with electricity as well as walk-in tent sites. The Vaquero and Longhorn areas along the riverbank offer tent sites with water access. All camping areas include picnic tables, fire rings, and nearby restrooms with showers. Recreational opportunities include fishing the San Antonio River for sunfish, bass, and catfish from the park's dock, as well as kayaking and canoeing. The park serves as a take-out point for the 6.6-mile Goliad Paddling Trail. On land, visitors can explore the 2.5-mile Angel of Goliad Hike and Bike Trail connecting the park to downtown Goliad, walk riverside trails, or visit the Cardinal's Haven bird blind. Nearby historic sites include Mission Rosario ruins and El Camino Real de los Tejas Visitors Center.
