About
Goliad State Park & Historic Site sits along the San Antonio River in South Texas, combining camping with significant Texas history. The park's centerpiece is Mission Espíritu Santo, a restored 1749 Spanish colonial mission where visitors can explore the chapel, workshops, and grounds. The 2.5-mile Angel of Goliad Hike & Bike Trail connects to nearby historic sites including Presidio La Bahía. Camping options span four areas: the Karankawa area offers 20 full-hookup pull-through sites suitable for large RVs and motorhomes with 20/30/50-amp electric service. The Jacales area has 14 water/electric sites plus 10 walk-in tent sites. The Vaquero and Longhorn areas along the river provide 14 water-only tent camping sites. All sites include picnic tables and fire rings with grills. Restrooms with showers serve the campground. The park offers a 6.6-mile paddling trail, fishing dock, bird blind at Cardinal's Haven, and a group hall available for events. December through March is peak season when reservations are strongly recommended.
