Blue Knob State Park
Open for the 2026 season. The campground operates from the second Friday in April through mid-October. Reservations are available through the Pennsylvania State Parks ReserveAmerica system.
About
Blue Knob State Park encompasses 6,128 acres of woodland in northwestern Bedford County, approximately 25 miles from Altoona, Johnstown, and Bedford. The park's higher elevation creates temperatures several degrees cooler than surrounding areas and delivers roughly 12 feet of annual snowfall, making it a popular winter destination as well. The campground features 50 tent and trailer sites spread across open fields and wooded areas. Most sites have electric service with 15, 20, 30, and 50 amp options available. Modern restrooms with hot showers serve the campground, along with a sanitary dump station, water, and playground equipment. Two walk-in only sites offer a more secluded experience. Select sites are pet-friendly and pull-through sites are available for easier RV maneuvering. Beyond camping, the park offers swimming at the pool, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and extensive winter recreation including skiing at the adjacent Blue Knob All Seasons Resort.

From I-99, take exit 7 toward Osterburg. Follow signs to Blue Knob State Park via Route 869. The park entrance is at 124 Park Road, Imler, PA 16655.
