Crawford State Park is a 500-acre southeast Kansas treasure located on the edge of the Ozarks, offering a unique blend of landscapes and recreational opportunities. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, the park's 150-acre lake serves as the centerpiece for camping, fishing, boating, and water sports. Park visitors are greeted by a memorial dedicated to the CCC workers who built the lake, and a historic interpretive trail honors their achievement. The park features six distinct campgrounds with 111 total campsites: 28 primitive sites, 38 electric-only sites, 25 sites with 50-amp service and water, and 20 sites with 30-amp service and water. Most campsites can be reserved and offer spectacular lake views. A Lakeview Group Use area with 10 electric sites is ideal for family reunions and group gatherings. Five modern lakefront cabins provide year-round lodging with full kitchens, bathrooms, heating, and air conditioning. Recreational amenities include two boat ramps, three bathhouses, courtesy docks, a dump station, and a swimming beach. Four trails cater to hikers and bikers, including the challenging 7-mile Drywood Creek Mountain Bike Trail that circles the entire lake. The full-service marina offers a restaurant serving meals Friday through Sunday, along with limited food and convenience items. Anglers enjoy excellent fishing for channel catfish, crappie, and striped bass. The park's location on the edge of the Ozarks provides spectacular spring beauty with redbud trees, wildflowers, birds, and butterflies throughout the lush surrounding forest.

From US-69 south of Fort Scott, take KS-7 north from Girard to the park entrance. Located 9 miles north of Girard in Crawford County.
