About
Cheyenne Mountain State Park sits on 1,680 acres of former ranchland at the transition zone between Colorado's plains and the Rocky Mountains. Just 10 minutes from downtown Colorado Springs, the park offers a peaceful escape with modern amenities and extensive outdoor recreation opportunities. The campground features 61 total sites including 51 full-service campsites with electric, water, and sewer hookups, and 10 basic walk-in tent sites. All sites include fire rings, picnic tables, and 12-foot by 12-foot tent pads. A camper services building provides coin-operated showers and laundry facilities from mid-April through mid-November. The park also offers two ADA-accessible cabins in the Meadow Campground, complete with kitchenettes, heating, air conditioning, and sleeping accommodations for up to six people. With 20 miles of trails winding through scrub oak, grasslands, and pine forests, the park is ideal for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. Additional amenities include a disc golf course, archery range, visitor center, and group camping areas. Wildlife viewing opportunities abound in this diverse ecosystem where the plains meet the mountains.
