About

Wye Campground is a primitive camping area located in Pike National Forest in Teller County, Colorado at an elevation of 10,300 feet. Historically one of the last free campgrounds remaining in Pike National Forest, it offered 21 campsites in a forested setting with opportunities for wildlife viewing. The campground provided basic amenities including vault toilets, fire pits, and picnic tables at each site. There was no potable water available, requiring campers to bring their own supply. The campground had no fees and operated on a first-come, first-served basis. Wye Campground is currently closed until further notice. Reports indicate the closure may be related to bear activity in the area, and the campground remains gated. Campers should check with the Pikes Peak Ranger District for current status updates.
