About

North Sterling State Park is situated on a 3,000-acre reservoir in the high plains of northeastern Colorado, approximately 15 miles northwest of Sterling. The park features 141 campsites distributed across three distinct campgrounds: Elks, Inlet Grove, and Chimney View. The majority of sites offer 50-amp electric hookups, making the park suitable for both RVs and tent campers. All campgrounds include modern amenities such as camper services buildings with flush toilets, hot showers, and coin-operated laundry facilities during the primary season. The reservoir draws boaters, anglers, and water sports enthusiasts from May through September, offering excellent warm-water fishing for wiper, walleye, channel catfish, yellow perch, bluegill, crappie, and trout. The park features several short trails totaling about 6 miles for hiking and wildlife viewing. Waterfowl hunters also frequent the area during hunting season. Chimney View Campground operates year-round with vault toilet facilities and 50-amp hookups during winter months when water systems are winterized. Elks and Inlet Grove campgrounds close seasonally in October. All campsites include fire rings and shaded picnic tables. The park is pet-friendly with leashed pets allowed throughout. Reservations are required for all camping and can be made up to six months in advance.

North Sterling State Park is located approximately 11 miles north of Sterling, Colorado, in Logan County. From Sterling, take County Road 33 north to the park entrance.
