About

Jumbo Reservoir State Wildlife Area, also known as Julesburg Reservoir, is a 1,703-acre property in Sedgwick County managed by Colorado Parks and Wildlife. The reservoir serves as critical wildlife habitat while providing recreational opportunities including fishing, hunting, boating, and wildlife viewing. The area has undergone improvements to transition from dispersed camping to designated numbered campsites equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. The reservoir offers warm water fishing opportunities for walleye, crappie, catfish, bass, and bluegill. Hunting opportunities include deer, dove, pheasant, rabbit, and waterfowl. The area includes restrooms and a boat ramp, though boating is restricted to when the aquatic nuisance species inspection station is open. All visitors age 16 or older must have a valid hunting or fishing license or Colorado State Wildlife Area Pass to access the property. Reservations are available through ReserveAmerica. Fires are allowed only within containment structures in designated camping areas. Dogs must be leashed except when actively hunting or during licensed field trials. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
