River Bend Campground sits within Powhatan State Park along the historic James River in Powhatan County, Virginia. The 29-site campground caters to a variety of camping styles, from tent camping to large RV rigs up to 60 feet. Each site provides electric hookups (20/30/50 amp), water connections, a fire ring, picnic table, and lantern holder. Tent pads measure 25 by 35 feet, and sites accommodate up to two camping units with only one axled unit allowed. The campground features a centrally located bathhouse with flush restrooms, hot showers, and laundry facilities. A dump station serves RV campers. The park office houses a gift shop for basic supplies. Site 13 offers ADA accessibility with paved surfaces and close proximity to the bathhouse. Powhatan State Park encompasses over 1,600 acres with wildlife observation areas, hiking and biking trails, and a car-top boat slide for James River access. The park also offers a primitive canoe-in/hike-in campground and yurts for those seeking alternative accommodations.
