About

Powerline Campground represents a dispersed camping opportunity in Pike National Forest in Park County, Colorado. Situated at high elevation in the Rocky Mountains, this camping area is accessed via Powerline Road and offers a primitive camping experience. The Pike National Forest encompasses over 1.1 million acres of public land in central Colorado, providing diverse recreation opportunities. As a dispersed camping location, campers should expect minimal to no facilities and must be self-sufficient. The high elevation location means the area is typically inaccessible during winter months due to snow. Access roads may be rough and require high-clearance or four-wheel-drive vehicles depending on conditions. Campers should follow Leave No Trace principles, pack out all trash, and be prepared for variable mountain weather.

Directions

From Lake George, Colorado, head west on US-24 for approximately 1.5 miles. Turn left onto County Road 96 and continue for about 2 miles. The campground is located near the power lines; look for designated camping spots along the road.
