About

Portola Redwoods State Park provides a hushed escape from the suburban bustle of Silicon Valley and the South Bay Area, with 2,800 acres of coast redwoods, ferns, and huckleberries along meandering creeks. The Redwoods Group Camping Area consists of four reservable tent-only group sites designed for organized groups seeking a forested retreat. Ravine Group Camp accommodates up to 25 people with a 6-vehicle limit, while Hillside, Point, and Circle Group Camps each hold up to 50 people with a 12-vehicle limit. All group sites are a short walk from parking areas and feature shared restrooms and drinking water faucets nearby. Pay showers are available at the main campground for 25 cents per two minutes. Strict enforcement of occupancy limits applies. The park offers 18 miles of trails through the redwood forest, with connections to nearby Memorial and Pescadero Creek County Parks. Note that there is no cell phone reception in the park, and the nearest gas and supplies are 9-14 miles away in La Honda or Sky Londa.
