About
Porcupine Springs Campground occupies a scenic forest setting of pine and aspen trees in southern Idaho's Sawtooth National Forest. At 6,950 feet elevation along Rock Creek Road, the campground provides a base for exploring the area's extensive trail network. Loop A contains 4 single and 2 double sites, Loop B has 3 single and 3 double sites plus a horseman area, Loop C offers 3 single and 3 double sites, and Loop D features 18 family units with water faucets and accessible restrooms. Three group sites can accommodate 50 to 100 people each. The campground is suitable for both tent and trailer camping. Little Fork Trailhead (#163) begins at the campground, providing access to Porcupine Springs, Ross Falls, Rim View, Pike Mountain, and Third Fork trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. An accessible Stock Transfer Station serves equestrian users. Rock Creek runs nearby for fishing. Individual sites are available first-come, first-served with fee envelopes at the entrance. Group sites and select individual sites can be reserved through Recreation.gov. Maximum stay is 14 days per 28-day period, with a limit of 2 vehicles per site.
Directions
From Twin Falls, travel east 8 miles on ID 50 and US 30, then south 30 miles on Rock Creek Road (County Road G3/Forest Road 515). From Hansen, travel south on County Road G3 for approximately 31 miles as the road becomes Forest Road 515 then Forest Road 500.
