About
Bear Gulch Campground is a developed campground in the Minidoka Ranger District of Sawtooth National Forest, featuring 8 individual campsites and 1 group site near Shoshone Wildlife Pond. The campground is suitable for both trailer and tent camping, with facilities designed to be handicapped accessible. A short trail from the campground leads to the fenced Shoshone Wildlife Pond, which provides habitat for various bird and wildlife species. Fishing opportunities are available in both the creek and pond, making this a popular spot for anglers. For equestrians, there is a barrier-free stock loading ramp and corral located near the campground, though horses are not allowed within the campground itself. The area serves dual purposes throughout the year: as a traditional campground during the warmer months and as a winter play area from December through March. Campers should note that there is no potable water available on-site, so bringing adequate water supplies is essential. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Standard Forest Service regulations apply, including a 14-day stay limit within any 28-day period and a maximum of 2 vehicles per site.
