About

Bostetter Campground is a rustic Forest Service campground located in the Minidoka Ranger District of the Sawtooth National Forest in southern Idaho. The campground features 10 individual campsites and 1 group site spread through a stand of Lodgepole pine along Cottonwood Creek, with one secluded site positioned among Aspen trees above the main campground. This is a primitive, pack-it-in/pack-it-out facility with vault toilets and picnic tables but no potable water, hookups, or trash service. The area accommodates both tent and trailer camping, with a two-vehicle limit per site and vehicles restricted to gravel spurs. Horses are not permitted. Anglers can access nearby stream fishing opportunities along Cottonwood Creek. The campground is currently closed due to fire damage, with no announced reopening date. Campers should contact the Minidoka Ranger District for current status updates.

Directions

From Oakley, Idaho, take Main 2000 S west for 2.1 miles to a 'Y' intersection. Bear left onto 2000 South (gravel) and continue 16.1 miles to another 'Y' intersection with a 'Campgrounds' sign. Bear right and go 0.5 miles to another intersection with a 'Bostetter G.S.' sign. Bear left and go 0.5 miles to the campground sign. Turn right into the campground. Note: 2000 South becomes Forest Route 500 at the forest boundary. Route 500 is steep and dirt with a washboard surface, not RV-friendly. For RVs, bear left inside the campground; the right turn is a dead end.
