About
Bostetter Campground is a small, primitive campground located in Sawtooth National Forest along Cottonwood Creek. The campground features 10 individual campsites and 1 group site situated in a scenic stand of lodgepole pine, with one site positioned higher up in an aspen grove. This is a pack-it-in, pack-it-out facility with no trash service. The campground accommodates both tent and trailer camping. Anglers can fish in nearby Cottonwood Creek. The facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system. Basic amenities include picnic tables at each site and vault toilets, though no potable water is available on-site. Campers must bring their own water supply. The area is managed by the Minidoka Ranger District and enforces a 14-day stay limit within any 28-day period. Horses are not permitted in the campground, and each site is limited to 2 vehicles that must be parked on designated gravel spurs.
Directions
From Oakley, Idaho, take Main 2000 S west for 2.1 miles to a 'Y' intersection. Bear left onto 2000 South (gravel) and continue 16.1 miles to another 'Y' intersection with a 'Campgrounds' sign. Bear right and go 0.5 miles to another intersection with a 'Bostetter G.S.' sign. Bear left and go 0.5 miles to the campground sign. Turn right into the campground. Note: 2000 South becomes Forest Route 500 at the forest boundary. Route 500 is steep and dirt with a washboard surface, not RV-friendly. For RVs, bear left inside the campground; the right turn is a dead end.
