About
Bald Eagle State Park encompasses 5,900 acres in the Bald Eagle Valley of northcentral Pennsylvania, where the 1,730-acre Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir laps against the flanks of Bald Eagle Mountain. The park serves as a gateway to the Pennsylvania Wilds, offering diverse habitats excellent for wildlife watching, fishing, and boating. The Russell P. Letterman Campground is the park's modern camping facility, located less than one mile from the beach and marina. Its 94 campsites feature paved parking spurs, picnic tables, and fire rings. Most sites offer 30-amp electric hookups, with some providing 50-amp service, and select sites include full-service hookups with sewer, water, and electricity. The campground provides flush toilets, warm showers, a sanitary dump station, and an amphitheater. Two sites are ADA accessible. Additional lodging options include yurts and camping cottages, all equipped with electric heat, cooking facilities, and nearby shower facilities. For those seeking a more rustic experience, the Rustic Camping Area offers 34 walk-to tent sites located approximately 150 feet from the road, plus 34 sites for camping vehicles. Parking for tent campers is along the campground road. Drinking water is available throughout the campground, and restrooms feature non-flush toilets with running water sinks. A sanitary dump station is also provided. The park's location in the heart of Pennsylvania makes it a popular destination for outdoor recreation across all seasons.
