About
Pine Lake State Park is a hidden gem in Hardin County with wooded trails, deep ravines, and scenic lake views surrounded by Iowa farmland. The 260-acre park centers on two small lakes created by damming the Iowa River in the 1920s. The campground offers 75 sites including non-electric, electric (20/30/50-amp), and full hookup options. Modern restrooms with showers and a dump station are available. All sites are 100% reservable through the Iowa State Parks reservation system. Four cabins with stone fireplaces, full kitchens, and year-round heating/AC are also available, with one being ADA accessible. Trails wind through wetland areas around the lake, along the bluffs of the Iowa River, and through unique forest ecosystems. The park provides excellent fishing opportunities and boat access on Pine Lake.
