About
Pigeon Flat Campground is a walk-in tent camping area situated along the scenic Stanislaus River, 24 miles east of Pinecrest on Highway 108. The campground's seven sites are accessible only on foot from the dirt parking area, as no vehicles are permitted past the main gate. Each site features a picnic table and metal fire ring for campfires. Facilities are basic: vault toilets are available, but there is no potable water, so campers must bring their own or filter from the nearby river. The campground is operated by Dodge Ridge Mountain Resort under a special use permit from the Forest Service. Popular activities include fishing in the Stanislaus River, hiking nearby trails, and scenic drives along the Highway 108 corridor toward Sonora Pass. The campground enforces a maximum 14-day stay, with check-in at 2:00 p.m., check-out at noon, and quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Maximum occupancy is six people per site.
