About

Deadman Campground is situated along the banks of the Stanislaus River in Stanislaus National Forest, approximately 29 miles east of Pinecrest off Highway 108 on Kennedy Meadow Road. The campground offers 17 total sites including two walk-in sites and three double sites, most positioned along the river bank providing scenic views and easy river access. The campground features paved main roads with dirt-surfaced parking pads at each site. Every campsite is equipped with a picnic table and a fire pit with grill. Drinking water is available from spigots distributed throughout the campground, and vault toilets are located near the campground entrance. A fee is charged for extra vehicle parking. The campground is located at a loop in the Stanislaus River, about half a mile from Highway 108 and near both Baker Campground and Kennedy Meadow Trailhead. Deadman Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations available. The riverside location provides excellent opportunities for fishing and hiking, with access to extensive trail systems in the surrounding national forest. The campground typically operates seasonally depending on weather conditions and Highway 108 access.
