About
Clark Fork Horse Camp is a primitive equestrian campground in the Stanislaus National Forest, managed cooperatively by the Forest Service and Backcountry Horsemen of California Mid-Valley Unit. The camp provides 13 sites specifically designed for horse and pack animal users exploring the Central Sierra Nevada high country near Iceberg Meadow. Facilities include three vault toilets and a watering trough for stock. Some sites have picnic tables, and campers are encouraged to use existing fire rings. No potable drinking water is available; water must be filtered or treated from nearby sources. Roads and parking pads are dirt. Located 25 miles east of Pinecrest on Clark Fork Road, the camp sits near Clark Fork Campground and the Iceberg Meadow Trailhead. Activities include horseback riding, hunting, and river fishing. Maximum stay is 14 days with a limit of 6 people per campsite.
