About

Picacho Peak State Park campground lies beneath the dramatic 1,500-foot volcanic spire visible from Interstate 10 in southern Arizona. The 78-site campground accommodates both tent campers and RVers on level, paved sites in a natural desert setting. All sites include electric hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings, with many featuring ramadas for shade. Four ADA-accessible sites are available, and the campground offers both back-in and pull-through configurations with no maximum RV length restrictions. Two modern, handicapped-accessible restroom and shower buildings provide hot water at no additional charge for registered campers. A dump station is included with camping fees. The park features a visitor center with a gift shop, vending machines, and park store selling maps, water, and souvenirs. An off-leash dog park is available exclusively for registered campers. The park is known for spectacular spring wildflower displays and challenging hiking trails leading to the peak summit. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and generator use is prohibited throughout the campground.
