About

Peppersauce Campground occupies a dramatic setting at 4,700 feet in the Santa Catalina Mountains, about 8 miles from Oracle, Arizona. Campsites line a creekside corridor of towering Arizona sycamore and walnut trees that provide deep shade in summer and autumn color. The creek bed is normally dry except during monsoon rains, when flash flooding can occur rapidly. The campground operates year-round with 17 first-come, first-served sites at $15 per night during the maintained season (November through March). A reservable group site accommodates up to 35 people at $50 per night plus $10 per vehicle. From April 1 through November 1, the campground is unmaintained with no fee, no trash service, and no toilet service. During this period, campers must pack out all trash and human waste. Facilities include vault toilets, potable water from a hand pump, picnic tables, grills, campfire rings, and lantern posts. RVs are limited to 22 feet, and trailers are discouraged due to small sites with no pull-throughs. The Arizona Trail is accessible about 5 miles away, and Peppersauce Cave offers nearby spelunking opportunities.
