About

Located at the base of the dramatic Picacho Peak along Interstate 10 in southern Arizona, Bobcat Rustic Campground provides an authentic desert camping experience during the cooler months. The rustic sites feature no electric, water, or sewer hookups but include essential amenities like picnic tables and fire rings. Campers have access to two modern, handicapped-accessible restroom and shower buildings included with their stay, along with a dump station and high-speed WiFi (additional fees apply). The campground operates within the larger Picacho Peak State Park, which features numerous hiking trails including the challenging Hunter Trail to the summit and the scenic 3-mile Sunset Vista Trail. The park is known for spectacular spring wildflower displays and is working toward International Dark Sky Park designation, making it ideal for stargazing. Wildlife sightings may include javelina, coyotes, bobcats, desert mule deer, and various reptiles and birds. The park gate closes at 8 p.m. nightly, and campers should note there is currently a water shortage with no filling allowed on-site.
