About

Catalina State Park campground is located at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, approximately 9 miles north of Tucson along Oracle Road. The park encompasses nearly 5,500 acres of Sonoran Desert foothills, offering camping amid saguaro cacti, mesquite, and palo verde trees with mountain views. Campgrounds A and B contain 120 paved sites, each equipped with electric hookups (20/30/50A), water connections, a picnic table, and BBQ grill. Modern restroom buildings provide flush toilets and hot showers. Two dump stations serve RV campers. There is no RV length limit, making the campground suitable for large rigs. The seasonal Ringtail Campground offers primitive camping without hookups from January through March. The park provides access to multiple hiking and equestrian trails, including connections to Coronado National Forest. An equestrian center with 16 horse stalls is available for camping with horses. A small visitor center gift shop sells maps, snacks, and basic supplies, though no full camp store exists on site.
