Open seasonally from late March through early November, weather dependent. Check-in at 2:00 PM, check-out by 12:00 PM. Reservations required via Recreation.gov. Fire danger is currently very high but no fire restrictions are in effect.

The Palisades Ranger Residence Cabin is located within the Palisades Administrative Site in the Santa Catalina Mountains, 20 miles northeast of Tucson, Arizona. Reached via the Sky Island Scenic Byway (Catalina Highway), the drive takes visitors through multiple biozones from the Sonoran Desert floor to dense forests at 8,000 feet elevation. This five-room electric cabin accommodates up to four guests and includes a bedroom with a queen bed, living room with two full-size futons, dining room, full bathroom with flush toilet, and a fully equipped kitchen with propane stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, cookware, utensils, and dishes. The large enclosed front yard features a picnic table, fire ring, and propane grill. Guests must provide their own food, sleeping bags or linens, pillows, towels, dish soap, matches, first aid kit, toilet paper, and garbage bags. Maid service is not provided; thorough cleaning including dishes, floors, countertops, and bathroom is required before checkout. Cell coverage is limited. Access is via keypad entry with a lockbox for the house key.
Directions
From northeast Tucson, take East Tanque Verde Road to East Catalina Highway. Turn left (north) on East Catalina Highway, which becomes the General Hitchcock Highway, for approximately 23 miles to Organization Ridge Road and turn left (just before Palisades Visitor Center). The cabin is located approximately 100 yards in on the right.
