About
Peninsula State Park occupies 3,776 acres on a peninsula jutting into Green Bay in Door County, Wisconsin. The park's five campgrounds serve different camping styles: North Nicolet Bay (44 non-electric sites) and South Nicolet Bay (143 sites, 54 electric) provide direct access to Nicolet Beach with volleyball courts, a playground, and boat rentals. Tennison Bay (188 sites, 97 electric) is the largest campground and offers winter camping. Weborg Point (12 electric sites) is a smaller, quieter option with an accessible fishing pier. Welcker's Point (81 non-electric sites) rounds out the family camping options. Three group campsites accommodate tent-only groups. All campgrounds feature flush toilets and hot water shower buildings. A dump station on Shore Road operates May through October. The park offers extensive recreation including an 18-hole golf course, the 75-foot Eagle Tower observation deck, over 20 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, and Northern Sky Theater summer performances. Nicolet Beach provides swimming, kayak/canoe rentals, and accessible beach mats. Reservations are required for all sites and can be made through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com. Sites fill quickly during summer months, especially holiday weekends. The park charges a vehicle admission sticker in addition to campsite fees. Nonresident campers pay a $15 per night surcharge.
