About
Little Bay De Noc Campground provides a quiet respite from more developed campgrounds in the Upper Peninsula, offering a peaceful lakeside camping experience on the shores of Little Bay de Noc at the north end of Lake Michigan. The campground features 36 single-family sites and 2 large group sites distributed across four distinct loops: Maywood, Oaks, Twin Springs, and Group. Oak, hemlock, and hardwood trees provide natural separation and privacy between sites, though the Twin Springs Loop is more open and grassy. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring with grill, accommodating both tent and RV camping. The campground is situated on a bay widely recognized as one of the finest walleye fisheries in the country, making it a popular destination for anglers. The Hunter's Point paved boat ramp is located less than a mile from the campground entrance, providing easy access for fishing boats. Beyond fishing, visitors enjoy swimming at the adjacent beach, non-motorized boating, and exploring nearby hiking trails including the 1.1-mile Bayshore Trail and White Pine Trail, both located within the recreation area. A day-use picnic area with tables, grills, and a large open grassy area is available for recreational gatherings. The campground offers accessible vault toilets and drinking water, but no hookups or showers. Beautiful sunsets over the glistening water are a highlight of camping here, making this a favorite spot for those seeking solitude and a connection with nature along Lake Michigan's northern shores.
