About

Old Veteran's Lake Campground offers a classic northwoods camping experience in Wisconsin's Governor Earl Peshtigo River State Forest. The rustic 16-site campground is situated near Old Veteran's Lake, a 10-acre lake renowned for its crystal-clear water. The adjacent beach area provides swimming access, though a separate admission fee applies. The campground features basic amenities including pit toilets and a solar-powered drinking fountain providing potable water. Each campsite comes equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and parking space for two vehicles. The surrounding state forest encompasses 9,200 acres of forestland and offers access to the Peshtigo River, which features additional remote boat-in campsites for those seeking more solitude. Reservations are made through wisconsin.goingtocamp.com. The forest also offers backpack camping sites north of the campground and remote river campsites between Johnson Falls Dam and Spring Rapids for paddlers exploring the Peshtigo River.
