Light snow along with northwest winds gusting over 30 mph is resulting in some blowing and drifting snow in open areas. Visibility may be less than one mile at times. The blowing and drifting snow may also make roads slippery for the morning commute. If traveling this morning, be prepared for reduced visibility and slick roads at times, especially in more open and less forested areas. The gusty winds will begin to diminish by mid morning.

The lowest wind chills will occur this morning, then again Tonight into Tuesday morning. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, and northeast Wisconsin. * WHEN...Until 10 AM CST Tuesday. * IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Old Veteran's Lake Campground is located within Governor Earl Peshtigo River State Forest, a long, linear state forest in northeast Wisconsin along the Peshtigo River. The campground offers 16 family campsites nestled in a hardwood forest beside Old Veteran's Lake, a small 11-acre lake known for its exceptionally clear water. The campground provides a peaceful, rustic setting with a small swimming beach for visitors to enjoy. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and parking space for two vehicles. Amenities include pit toilets and a solar-powered drinking fountain for potable water. The campground is located on Parkway Road approximately 3.5 miles north of County Road X. Twelve of the sixteen sites are reservable, making this a popular destination during the summer months. A Wisconsin State Forest admission sticker is required for each vehicle. The surrounding state forest offers excellent opportunities for fishing, paddling, hiking, and wildlife viewing. The Peshtigo River is renowned for its fly-fishing and whitewater paddling opportunities. Additional primitive and boat-in campsites are available throughout the state forest for those seeking a more remote experience.
