About
Patrick Creek Dispersed Site 2 is a free, primitive dispersed camping location in Flathead National Forest in Flathead County, Montana. This site is typical of dispersed camping opportunities throughout the 2.4-million-acre forest, offering backcountry camping without developed amenities or services. Dispersed camping is permitted almost everywhere on the Flathead National Forest, with some restrictions near developed recreation areas, trailheads, and day-use sites. Campers at this location must be self-sufficient and prepared for primitive conditions. No water, restrooms, or trash services are provided. All trash must be packed out. The forest requires strict adherence to food storage orders due to grizzly bear activity in the area. Campers should use existing fire rings when available and ensure fires are completely extinguished. The maximum stay limit is 16 days, though some popular areas near water may have shorter posted limits. Winter access may be limited by snow conditions and road closures.
Directions
Patrick Creek Dispersed Site 2 is accessed via Patrick Creek Road near Kalispell, Montana. From Kalispell, take Foys Canyon Road to Patrick Creek Road and continue towards the national forest. The first miles are residential, but the road leads into scenic forested areas with pull-offs and dispersed campsites.
