Cedar Grove Group Campground occupies a forested setting less than a mile southeast of Doane Valley Campground in Palomar Mountain State Park. At roughly 5,000 feet elevation, the park features a mix of white fir, incense cedar, and black oak that distinguishes it from San Diego County's typically arid landscapes. Three separate group camping areas provide options for different group sizes and camping styles. Group Camp #1 accommodates up to 25 people and allows trailers and camper vans up to 21 feet. Group Camps #2 and #3 each hold up to 15 people for tent camping only. All sites share a restroom/shower building with generally accessible facilities. Each site includes fire rings with grills and picnic tables, and potable water is available. Group Camp #1 is generally accessible with a firm tent pad, accessible furnishings, and nearby water spigot. The campground serves as a base for hiking several of Palomar's trails. Note that dogs are allowed in camp on leash but prohibited on park trails. No gas stations exist on Palomar Mountain, so visitors should fuel up before the ascent.

From Interstate 15, take Highway 76 east to County Road S6 (South Grade Road) and follow signs up the mountain to the park. The park entrance is at 19952 State Park Road, Palomar Mountain, CA 92060. No gas stations are available on the mountain.
