Potable drinking water is available throughout the campground. The area offers excellent stargazing opportunities due to minimal light pollution and supports diverse wildlife including mountain lion, bobcat, mule deer, coyote, and gray fox. Birders will find ample viewing opportunities. Oak Grove Trail begins across Highway 79 behind the Ranger Station, offering a 1.5-mile hike with steep terrain and panoramic views.
