Pickett CCC Memorial State Park honors the legacy of the Civilian Conservation Corps who developed this expansive park in the 1930s. The campground features 26 campsites, most equipped with electric and water hookups, picnic tables, and grills. Located within the 20,887-acre Pickett State Forest on the Cumberland Plateau, the park sits adjacent to the massive 125,000-acre Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area. The park offers exceptional outdoor recreation with over 50 miles of hiking trails winding through wilderness terrain, natural bridges, and sandstone formations. Campers can explore scenic overlooks, waterfalls, and unique geological features. The park also includes a small lake for paddling and fishing, though swimming and boat dock facilities are currently closed for accessibility improvements. This nearly 20,000-acre destination provides both developed camping and backcountry opportunities, making it ideal for those seeking extended wilderness adventures in Tennessee's rugged Cumberland Plateau region.
