The campground is currently closed for the season. Norway Beach Loop typically operates from late May through early September. Reservations are available through Recreation.gov. A food storage order is in effect requiring all bear attractants be secured in hard-sided vehicles when unattended.

About

Norway Beach Loop is part of the Norway Beach Recreation Area on the southern shores of Cass Lake in Chippewa National Forest. The campground features 51 sites set among towering red and white pines, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. Flush and vault toilets along with showers are provided, though campers must bring their own drinking water as potable water is not available on-site. Cass Lake is the largest of eight lakes in the Cass Lake Chain, covering nearly 16,000 acres with 27 miles of forested shoreline. The lake offers outstanding fishing for walleye, northern pike, perch, and trophy muskie. A boat ramp is nearby for motorized and non-motorized watercraft. Star Island sits in the middle of Cass Lake and features six miles of hiking trails and the unique 199-acre Lake Windigo. The Norway Beach Visitor Center is adjacent to the campground, housed in a historic Civilian Conservation Corps building with interpretive programs on Dakota and Ojibway heritage. Annual events include Kids Fishing Day in June, Bald Eagle Day in July, and Smokey Bear's Birthday in August. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
