About

Cass Lake Campground Loop is a walk-in tent campground located within the Norway Beach Recreation Area in Chippewa National Forest. The 12 campsites are accessed via a walking and bicycling path rather than by vehicle, with each site featuring a large designated tent pad and accommodating up to 8 people. Two sites are fully accessible for people with mobility challenges. The campground sits on the shores of Cass Lake, the largest of eight interconnected lakes that make up the Cass Lake Chain of Lakes. Cass Lake itself covers nearly 16,000 acres and features 27 miles of forested shoreline with sandy beaches. The lake is renowned for fishing, particularly for walleye, northern pike, perch, and trophy muskie. Other recreational activities include boating, canoeing, water skiing, and swimming. Vault toilets are available at the campground. Campers should bring their own drinking water as potable water is not available at this site. A firewood quarantine is in effect, meaning outside firewood is not permitted. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservations.
